Sometimes some structures of girders, slabs and RC columns not to be complied with bearing capacity required by designer or executing company, however, it is impossible to break or replace them with the new ones. Strengthening method for those structures should be applied in the following conditions:
- The slab to be in vibration and deflection due to thin slab.
- Compression strength of column, girder, slab concrete not to be according to design requirement
- Increasing the number of floors that requires strengthening for foundation.
- After completion, the buildings must be checked. After being checked, some items to be found unsatisfied due to poor bearing capacity.
- The buildings after being in fire situation.
- The buildings after being used for a long time with overload signals (the width of concrete cracks and deflection exceed the allowable limit)

The width of concrete cracks exceeds the allowable limit (1.5mm) meaning the girders are in overloading condition – This building has been used for 50 years.
- Some applicable methods to be as follows: the structures should be coated with carbon fibers and Epoxy
- Slab and girder should be strengthened by I-steel beam
- The structure should be covered with steel plate, then Epoxy should be pumped into the gaps between concrete and steel plate.
- Girder and slab to be attached with high-strength steel
